HEMS is a small and thriving community based in Hatch End. Still in its infancy, the community is continuing to grow and work towards our current goals of permanent premises. The uniqueness of this Kehila is that they provide friendly regular religious services where individuals and families feel relaxed and are encouraged to participate; that there is an ethos of collective care and support for other members and people in need. They began this year with a new Rabbi; Rabbi Paul Aberman. The HEMS community is extremely close and active in terms of its religious, social, youth and community activities. They hold regular social functions, adult learning evenings, cheder and Bar Mitzvah classes, fundraising events. Over the past year HEMS has began working closely with the Hatch End Reform Synagogue Kol Chai including an annual Chanukah Talent Show and joint Pesach Seder. Noam runs HEY (Hatch End Youth) club with Kol Chai twice a month for schools years 3-6 and 7-9. Once a month it is on Shabbat around two and a half hours before the end of shabbat and once a month on a Sunday.
