The Warwick Jewish-Israeli society has recently seen an impressive upsurge in activity. We are a medium sized warm and friendly community with about 70 members who regularly attend our several weekly events. We run regular educational and social events including a Wednesday Bagel lunch in our Jewish Common Room (which includes a Kosher kitchen, and is open to all members throughout the year) and of course our legendary Friday night dinners. Additionally, we are proud to announce the recent opening of the Warwick Hillel House, situated just a mere ten minute walk from campus. With a 40" Plasma TV, double rooms, comfortable leather couches and a huge garden, it's perfect for those Israeli movie nights and summer barbeques, as well as for those who live there.

The JISoc offers a warm, friendly and inviting atmosphere for members of all religious levels and denominations. We have several Masorti members, two of whom currently serve on the exec committee, and although there is currently not enough of us for a Masorti prayer service we do have Masorti & Conservative Siddurs!

Our relationship with other groups within the university is generally very good. As a religious and cultural society, and also in order to avoid alienating any of our members, the JISoc does not have a stance on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. Instead, we try to promote understanding of the complex situation in the Middle East by holding constructive talks and events which are open to all students. We have good relations with the Islamic Society and even occasionally hold cultural events with the Arabic society. We have also in the past stood together with other ethnic minority communities at the university concerning issues that affect us all
