Cambridge

For a Jewish student in Cambridge, there is plenty going on. The Jewish Society is very active, running weekly Friday night meals and Oneg, Saturday Cholent lunch, Sunday bagel brunch, Monday Ivrit classes, and Thursday lunch and learn sessions. Apart from these there is a huge suite of social events, ranging from Booze4Jews to bowling to film nights. We have several Limmud-style educational events every term to which we attract widely renowned speakers. The annual JSoc ball is an event never to be missed. If you just feel like chilling out, the Culanu centre is situated in the centre of Cambridge, and boasts lots of comfy chairs/beanbags, tons of board games, a bottomless supply of snacks and booze, a pool table and 55-inch plasma TV. With Sky.JSoc has an orthodox minyan and also runs anflourishing egalitarian minyan to cater to as wide a range of religious Jews as possible. There is even a Chabad house, and they have particularly fine whiskey. JSoc is based in the United Synagogue shul in the area, but there is also a Reform shul not too far away.
