8 May: First-timers Shabbat, New North London Synagogue

NNL is holding a series of "first-timers" services across our minyanim. You can learn to take an important part in any of our services, which all encourage a warm and welcoming atmosphere with traditional melodies. Our aim is always to stimulate kavannah (spiritual concentration) coupled with friendly informality. We are happy to arrange help and mentoring for anyone who wants to learn to daven (lead services) or to leyn (chant from the Torah or read the Haftorah) or act as a Shammas (co-ordinate the service and assist in its smooth running) or take any other role. Davening or leyning may well be easier than you think, and definitely less daunting than you may remember from your Bar- or Bat-Mitzvah!

If you are interested in taking part as a first-timer in:
* the Traditional Service: contact Jonathan Polin ( This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it 020 8346 1367) or Mike Schlagman ( This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it 020 8346 5274)
