Job Title: Admissions Associate

 

Scope:  The Admissions Associate will be the public face of the Academy on the road. Through recruiting trips, the associate will work to identify future Academy students in each community visited and will facilitate the process to bring the students and their families to campus, and through the application process.  As part of the Admissions team, the associate will assist in the development of promotional materials and participate in coordinating trips, mailings and follow-up to prospective students.  The associate will also have administrative duties and will be expected to be in attendance for weekly admissions meetings when they are not traveling.

 

Major Responsibilities:

  • Recruitment
    • National and international travel to various communities to give presentations to potential students and parents
    • Arranging and attending meetings with educators and rabbis in communities
    • Promoting Honor Society program and identifying potential nominees
    • Reaching out to congregations and other Jewish organizations in the community to introduce them to the Academy, and to build a relationship with them so that they will be our emissaries in their community
    • Promoting the Academy at summer camps as assigned
    • Coordinating follow up process to communities visited including acknowledgment letters, phone calls to leads and gatekeepers
    • Conducting tours of campus for prospective students and other guests

 

  • Administrative duties:
    • Updating Blackbaud Organization/Individual database to ensure accuracy of contacts
    • Updating prospective student records
    • Assisting in the development and production of recruitment materials such as letters, pamphlets, documents and postcards
    • Updating Academy social networking sites on a day to day basis
    • Attend weekly  Admissions Staff meeting

 

  • Residential duties:
    • Serve as House Affiliate: provide supervision in student house one evening every other week

 

  • Prospective Student Weekend Events (4-6 events/year including local/regional recruitment activities)
    • Member of planning team
    • Will serve as residential staff member in house with prospective students
    • On duty throughout weekend

o   Strong organizational, writing and communication skills

o   Coachable and team oriented

o   Tech savvy

 

·         Preferred Experience

o   Bachelors Degree

o   Proficiency in social media

o   Ability to speak multiple languages

 

Other duties as assigned

 

Benefits & Compensation

Room and board, including all travel expenses

Health Insurance

Annual salary : $17,500; 12 month position

Vacation: 10 days after completion of full year

Director of Admissions

Recruitment Travel procedures and support will be provided by Director and Assistant Director of Admissions
